If you are visiting West Hollywood (WeHo to the locals!) you will be excited to find it abuzz with a variety of fun things to be part of. A culturally diverse neighbourhood, it lies midway between downtown and the beach. West Hollywood is a draw with locals and visitors alike. Spread over 1.9 miles, there is plenty see and explore, ranging from rooftop bars to the best of alternative theatre.

Have a tipple at a Rooftop Bar:

There is nothing better than having a few drinks with friends and chilling out atop a rooftop bar while admiring the sights all around. Head to the Andaz’ Riot House a trendy booze bar, with a very rock’ n roll feel to the place. Other cool rooftop joints to hang out are Ivory on Sunset Blvd and the Mondrian Skybar, where you are bound to bump into some Hollywood celebrity or the other.

Enjoy some great theatre performances:

While there are plenty of theatres in town, the Coast Playhouse an indie venue thrill its audiences with a unique set of musical and plays at the 99 seater theatre. The latest musical to engage audiences is Heartbreak Hotel (from a Tony-nominated team). There have been quite a few other sell-out shows that have enthralled audiences at the Coast like “No I Won’t Take You to The Airport”.

Visit the Morrison Gallery:

Sunset Blvd is home to the stars where they glitter at their brightest. It is where sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll are no strangers to this part of town, with the Morrison Gallery, among the best art venues in the area. The gallery houses a fine collection of photographs of sports icons and music legends. Their archive dates back to the 1940s with some very rare photographs. A great place for music lovers to visit and see fascinating images of their favourite music stars!

Drop in at the Macha Theatre:

The Game of Thrones has spellbound audiences the world over and there have been quite a few spin-offs (or feeble attempts to do so). One of the more interesting ones though brought to West Hollywood was by the Macha Theatre Co. Their version is the Games of Thrones: The Musical in February 2017 was a smash hit. In February 2019 they will perform Frida - A Stroke of Passion loosely based upon the life of the legendary Frida Kahlo.
