What’s on in London this June?

If you are planning on visiting London this June, you might be planning your week with care. What would be worth a visit? What is worth the money? And what would be family friendly?

The good news is that London always has a lot going on, so you will be spoilt for choice. Whether you are travelling with family, alone or with a partner, you can always find something that suits all of you.

London Festival of Architecture - 1st–30th June 2018
This is Europe’s largest annual architecture festival. From 1st – 30th June the London Festival of Architecture is hosting over 400 events across London, exploring this year’s theme, which is ‘identity’. Find some festival highlights here.
You’ll find exhibitions, family events, walking tours, debates and architectural installations.

Trooping the Colour – 9th June
This is the Queen’s official birthday ceremony, as the Queen celebrates 2 birthdays a year. The parade involves 1400 troops, 200 horses and 400 musicians, who follow a route from Buckingham Palace down The Mall to Horse Guards Parade, before returning the Palace. It really is great to see and feels typically British, So, if you are in London around 9th June, which is a Saturday this year, make sure to check this one out on your travels.

Summer Exhibition 2018 - 12th June–19th August 2018
The Royal Academy of Arts celebrates its 250th birthday this year, so there are several special events planned to mark the occasion. This year’s Summer Exhibition shows both up-and-coming and well-established artists and has something interesting for everyone to see.

This also runs in conjunction with The Great Spectacle, which tells the story of the exhibitionsfrom the past 250 years. The cost is £16 with some concessions available.

Royal Ascot - 18th–23rd June 2018
Royal Ascot is a glamourous day out, where everyone gets dressed up for the races. It started in the early 1700s, when it was founded by Queen Anne, and today it’s attended by The Queen. The atmosphere here is truly British and you can enjoy a glass of champagne and some strawberries while soaking up the sun – or ducking out of the rain!
