Best events to enjoy this spring in London

Finally, we can bid winter a much-awaited farewell and look forward to the beauty and warmth of spring approaching. With brighter and warmer weather residents and visitors head to the outdoors and it is also a time filled with activities and events all through March-May.

From pop-up restaurants to great gigs, best of theatre to sporting events, the spring social calendar in London is always a lively and exciting experience.

It also is a period when the city attracts larger volumes of visitors because of the favourable weather conditions. Consequently, most types of accommodation including luxury hotels in London are booked in advance.

If you want value for money and plan to visit the British capital this spring, the Montcalm Hotel London would be a great choice in terms of facilities, price and location. Just a few of the events to look forward to this spring 2018 in London are:

Macbeth: Those with a passion for theatre will enjoy the classic tale of Macbeth performed at the National Theatre, until 23 June this year. A dark and intense Shakespearean tragedy it features Rory Kinnear and Anne Duff, who brilliantly play the manipulative and scheming couple with the performances held on the Olivier stage. Forget about the struggle of the characters to get rid of blood off their hands, it will be a challenge laying hands on a ticket. While tickets may be booked online there is a select batch sold on a daily basis.

Swingers at the West End (March 23 onwards): If you fancied swinging, there is a ‘hole’ new kind of swinging to enjoy at the West End. No not the naughty kind, but rather of the more sporting type! A pop-up golf course it has captivated Londoners since they first opened in 2014. Located on Oxford Street in a former BHS Store, the second venue in London is opening shop in the centre of the city. As with its other venue that carries a country club theme, the new shop at the West End will feature a rocking 1920s vibe of the English Riviera. It comes with a concealed entrance through a souvenir store. There are two nine-hole courses with comfy beach huts and an eclectic variety of food options. Those who enjoy their drinks will feel right at home at the massive island-shaped bar serving booze all through the day.

The EY Exhibition of Picasso 1932 (until September 9, 2018): While the Tate Modern has hosted exhibitions showcasing works of some of the finest modern artists of the 19th and 20 centuries, it comes as a surprise that they never hosted a Picasso exhibit yet! The museum has amended this mistake with a retro exhibit of a key period in the life of Picasso (the year 1932). It was a period when Picasso was at his prolific best and churned out some of the most acclaimed and iconic art pieces. There are expected to be 100 plus exhibits of his finest works on display!
